  • What is Sprite Migrator for? Do I really need it?
    Sprite Migrator migrates user data and settings from a Windows Mobile 5 phone to a Windows Mobile 6 phone. Depending on whether you want to keep any of your data or settings - SMS mesges, Speed Dials, pictures. music etc you DO need it.

  • Will it work on my phone?
    Sprite Migrate currently works on Palm Treo 750 phones ONLY.
  • I have 100 units to migrate. What is the best way to do this?
    Sprite Migrator was designed with volume deployments in mind. Please refer to the User Guide for a complete description.
  • How is Sprite Migrator different from Sprite Backup?
    Sprite Backup 5 is designed to restore ALL system and user data to the same platform it was backed up on. Sprite Migrator is designed to just migrate specific data and settings and it changes the Windows Mobile 6 settings to match those previously used.
  • What is migrated to my upgraded device?
    Sprite Migrator supports the following data:- SMS, MMS Messages, Call History, Speed Dials, Browser favourites, My Docs, My Pictures, My Videos, My Music, Contacts, Tasks, Appointments, Alarms, Persanal Setings, System Settings
  • What is NOT migrated?
    Sprite Migrator does not migrate user applications because they may not be compatible with WM6, and users can re-install them from their desktop if desired. Files which are not in the My Documents folder tree are also not included.
  • Can I migrate my contacts and appointments?
    If you are syncing to Outlook or Exchange using Active Sync, then this will be detected and your outlook data will not be migrated. You should Sync to Outlook/Ekchange after the ROM upgrade to recover this information. If you are not using Active Sync, then Sprite Migrator will migrate your Outlook contacts, tasks and appointments.
  • What is the full process for upgrading and migrating my Treo 750?

  • I am having problems with my device after the upgrade to Windows Mobile 6. What should I do?
    Sprite Software provides full support for Sprite Migrator, but we are not responsible for support of Windows Mobile 6 upgrades. Please refer to Palm support with any questions you may have.
