Spawar Systems Center Reduces Windows Mobile Deployment Time and Ensures Device Consistency with Sprite Clone

Data Protection and Management is an ongoing goal for any company. But when critical corporate data resides on mobile devices, the task of deploying a common software baseline across these devices can be a challenging task. For the Space and Naval Warfare (SPAWAR) Systems Center in Charlestown South Carolina, deploying and securing 4000+ Windows Mobile devices needed a special solution. Healthcare Deployment"The test deploy took 5.5 mins for the same sort of data load that I typically put on our machines. Normally it takes me more than 30 mins, although with repeated use and using all the shortcuts I can, I have gotten it down to 20 mins by skipping some steps. What I like about this is that I will be able to set up the devices exactly how I want them - settings for noise, flashy thingies, AvantGo channels, owner information, where to send if lost or broken…all that kinda stuff - which takes about an hour to do fully…and then clone that setup. When my users run their batteries flat, drop their devices, feed them to dog etc, it will be a simple 5.5 min Deploy to get em back to where they started. Some will lose some data but it will be an incentive for them to keep their own backups properly maintained, after they have received their devices. Am trying to persuade bean counters that all users should have a copy of Pocket Backup for rapid backup and restores for themselves." Dr David Topps |

"Without Sprite Clone we wouldn’t have been able to give 450 users a great Pocket PC experience at the Microsoft Exchange Conference. It is the ideal tool for large scale deployments." Craig Dewar |
