Backup Operations

Backup Operations
To backup the data on your Mobile Device, simply select the ‘Backup’ button. Sprite Backup will then guide you through the next steps of confirming data selection and storage location.
To restore the data on your Mobile Device, simply select the ‘Restore’ button. Sprite Backup will then guide you through the next steps of selecting the backup file and confirming the data selection.
To configure your automatic daily or weekly backup schedule, simply select the ‘Schedule’ button. For more information see Scheduled Backups.

  • To configure Sprite Backup Options, select the ‘Options’ button.
    		• From the main screen, select the kind of backup you want to perform. If you choose Full Backup, the program will back up all possible data, such as PIM data, Emails, My Documents and System data (other files, programs and their settings).
    To manually select what particular data you want to backup, choose Custom Backup.
    Select Scheduled Backup to configure automatic scheduling.
    To configure SBP Backup Options, select ‘Tools -> Options’ .

    Just click Next if you want to backup the entire contents of your device. To change the settings for what is included in the backup, use the data selection screen in a similar way to Windows Explorer, drilling down by clicking on the ‘+’ symbol. Select items using the checkboxes. A red checkmark indicates that every sub-item of the selected item is selected, whereas a grey checkmark indicates that some sub-items are not selected. This feature allows you to select the particular item categories you would like to include in the backup copy. To select a category, check the appropriate box . For some categories you can also customize their contents by selecting them and tapping on the Options button.

    Use this screen to confirm or change the location of the backup file
    You can also add a useful description to files.     		SPB Backup location is configured by a backup option.
    You can not choose the backup file name or annotate backup files.

    When the backup operation is complete, the device is reset and a notification message is displayed. When the backup operation is complete, a status report is available.

    Restore Operations

    You can either click on a backup file to restore it, or you can use the main screen. Use File Explorer to navigate to your backup file and then Click to open it.

    Sprite Backup will scan your entire device and by default will sort backup files by date
    Any annotations are also displayed which can be helpful if you have multiple backup files.     		Choose whether to restore everything or customize your data selections.

    Once you have selected which contents to restore, the operation starts and a progress screen is shown.
    At the end of the restore the device resets and the notification complete message is provided.     		The restore progress screenshot was not available, but it is the same as the backup progress screen.
