There are two ways to check whether the batter monitor is running. The first is to enter the backup->:options->schedule screen and check whether the checkbox for the battery monitor is turned on. If it is, then battery monitor is enabled and should be running. A shortcut link to the battery monitor executable is placed in the startp folder \windows\startup folder and this is started after soft reset.
Please note that in the current version, the battery monitor will notify that the preset threshold has been reached, but you will have to actually click on a button in order for the backup to start.
